On the brink of university graduation, I am constantly being asked the same question: What do you plan to do with your life? And I always give the same answer: I don't know. Usually, the well-intended person proceeds with a list of suggested careers as if I haven't given any thought to my future occupation. Well, I have. And I still don't know. But the most recent suggestion is one that I haven't considered.

While catching up with a buddy of mine, he poses the question and I throw back the answer. Then came the suggestion. "You can marry rich and become your husband's trophy, heh". Um, that was a compliment, right? I mean, a woman really does want her entire existence to be summed up as an external marker for a man's power, wealth, and status, right? That being the case, I should be excited to find meaning in making myself look beautiful for the rest of my life -- call it personal aesthetics -- in exchange for luxury and over-indulgence . I fear that this is how many people misunderstand me. When in actuality, I'm too much of an idealist to dream of such practical arrangements for myself. You see, I'm rather impractical. Although my degree promises decent work of some sort, in a heartbeat, I would switch industries into one promising little financial security, but artistic fulfillment in tenfold. So if I am to be rich, I hope to do it within the integrity of my ideals. And, if I am to have a husband, I want to be...his Hero.

Welcome to my blog. I promise not to be pedantic, pretentious, or to pose. I also doubt that my topics will always be of serious nature, seeing that I'm already running low on important things to say, ha. And I have a sense of humor -- sometimes. Lol. Make of me what you will.
